In medicine the least studied phenomenon is smell which can have a positive and negative effect on sexuality.  Some odors intensify sexual sensitivity generating sexual  excitement /irritation.
When we notice a beautiful flower, we

approach it, independently smell it and get disappointment realizing that there is no aroma. In this case even the most wonderful flower loses its value in our imaginations and gets an artificial tag in our minds. On the other hand, there is not such a beautiful flower but with such an aroma that it gives us a great contentment, and we begin  paying no attention to its ugliness, we just feel and live a sense of amazement.

Smell has its own neurophysiological criterion , it is as follows: man remembers odors, as aroma has a property of being stamped upon people’s memory. Due to this property, the presence of odors generates excitement even by the person who doesn’t feel it. The second one is a habit. For example, the people who associate with animals for a long time don’t notice the smell, and it doesn’t worry them. Why do we observe these two phenomena? As willingly or unwillingly smell plays its own part in manifestations of our sexuality and  has an influence on formation of our odour in interpersonal relationship. Sometimes  with not complete sexual activity person doesn’t even notice that sexual disfunction arises  because of smell.

On the base of generating smell lie changes of neurophysiology as well as metabolism which influence on manifestations of sexual function of both the very person and his/her partner. Smell  being an important sexual factor isn’t fixed by person, but subconsciously it has its special part. So during clinical activity this circumstance must be taken into consideration at the same time with a lot of investigations. Besides, it is also a guarantee of general health that’s why it has a great significance and is often observed as a clinical symptom in the disinfected states.
