This October, Miami hosted the 23rd Scientific Meeting of the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) and the 23rd Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America. (SMSNA). Satenik Sahakyan, a member of the Armenian Association of Sexologists, MD Sexologist from the Sexopathology Department of Mikayelyan University Hospital, has been awarded a travel stipend to participate in ISSMSMSNA2022.
During the conference, an abstract of the research conducted jointly with the Armenian Association of Sexologists and the Department of Sexology YSMU was presented, which included statistical analyzes on the prevalence of domestic violence in Armenia during the COVID-19 pandemic. It should be noted that for the first time Armenia took part and presented a scientific work as a poster presentation at the ISSM-SMSNA Scientific Meeting.
The conference was multidisciplinary: sexology, urology, gynecology, oncosexology, psychology, psychiatry. There were over 1000 participants in this year's meeting․ Internationally recognized leading specialists and scientists of the field shared their scientific works, research, and experience.
Participating in international conferences and communicating with specialists from different countries of the world provides an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in medicine, as well as to create new scientific and research networks around the globe.
